Pele Lani Retreat and Agricultural Center

ALOHA!
Pele Lani Retreat and Agricultural Center was named after the Hawaiian Goddess Pele, the goddess of the vocano. "Lani" in Hawaiian means "heaven". "Pele's heaven" is the real Hawaii, a tropical jungle paradise. Located in the Puna district of the Big Island of Hawaii, it is situated very close to many natural wonders, such as the Kilauea caldera (volcano), the champagne ponds (natural hot ponds), Noni trees and the freshest air on the planet. Pele Lani Retreat and Agricultural Center is a five minute walk to the pristine ocean waters and coral pools off the lava coast.
Pele Lani is 40 minutes southeast of Hilo, the second largest city in the state of Hawaii. We are located on the eastern most point of the island in Kapoho, typically the very rainy side of the island. However, Pele Lani and the immediate surrounding area do not get the very heavy rainfalls or high day-time humidity. The weather is usually warm, sunny, dry and wonderful each day.

During the past 8 months, Pele Lani has opened its gate to allow friends to stay for short periods of time. They have fallen in love with the natural beauty and the peaceful energy that is present on the property. There is a magical quality to Pele Lani that the Hawaiians understand. Situated on the 19.5 Latitude North grid line, the energy here accelerates one's growth, development and manifestation of intentions.

It is an absolutely incredible experience to be free from many types of pollution, power lines and stress.
You will find this environment very beneficial for your body, mind and spirit.

Our Vision

Our vision is to utilize the natural landscape and features of this piece of paradise to create a self sustaining environment as a healing, transformational retreat and agricultural center. Our vision includes organic farming, solar power and a natural water filtration system.

On this beautiful 5 acre tropical paradise, we have a 5 year old custom built house as two separate units, a green house, some fruit trees, two solar panels and county water. We also have our own private geo-thermal pond. So, we are well on our way toward this vision.

By the end of Summer in 2008, we will have a 1500 sf Pura Desa Temple building from Bali, 150 years old and made of solid teakwood. This Temple will be used as a meditation, healling and learning space. We also have a Bali type bungalow being constructed now and will add more as we expand.

We serve people from all over the world who want to rejuvenate in a pure, unpolluted environment. We provide education, coaching, body work and many other services to our guests.

Our Philosophy

We are spiritual beings in the midst of a human experience. Our spiritual practices include meditation, tantra yoga, music, chanting and body movement. We celebrate our bodies as temples of our higher selves. We are all connected energetically and respect all life.
We practice unconditional love and inclusion. We are ONE Ohana (family).

Our Invitation

We invite you to join a community of higher consciousness people who are dedicated to learning and serving. Be part of our extended family. Bring your own unique skills and talent to contribute to the growth and beauty of this special place while relaxing and rejuvenating in a natural paradise. Spend some time with us, learn about sustainable living, organic farming, landscaping, the culture of Hawaii, Tantra, Shamanism and experience a variety of PlayShops and transformational sessions by Maya Dolena, Lea'nala Gamulo, Shaman Pipe Keeper Bwaunequa Meshwaawaabikaag, Kahuna Hapi Pahia, Kyria Lumina and other guest teachers. Our guests must be 21 years or older.

Pele's Magical Pond, a work in progress
The nightly rains filter through the lava deep into the earth. Then the purified water is heated by Pele's volcano as it flows to the ocean. We tap into this pure, natural stream of energized water. This natural geo-thermal warm pond is 75 feet long and 65 feet wide. The water is approximately 89 degrees Fahrenheit and about 85% fresh water, 15% salt water fed by lava tubes to the ocean. The Pond water rises and falls with the tide so is typically 12 to 15 feet deep in the center.

The Pond walls are surrounded by blue rock and red cinder, beautiful types of lava. The walls of the Pond are in the process of being landscaped with tropical ground cover and colorful tropical plants. The natural lava stone stairway to the water was hand laid with lava uncovered on the property.

Many people have described the Pond as Pele's womb because the water feels so warm and nurturing. Several people have had insights and visions while swimming in the pond and some have had their intentions manifested quickly and easily.
